Mosaic identifies and describes your customers in great detail, locates where they live and outlines what makes them different from the rest of the population. Mosaic is a “neighbourhood classification system”. Using advanced cluster analysis techniques, Mosaic classifies all local neighbourhoods into distinct “lifestyle” types. The classification has been devised under the direction of Professor Richard Webber, the world’s leading authority on consumer segmentation.

Mosaic allows you to sort customers into clusters with similar lifestyles, interests, behaviours and needs. It allows you to target the right people, with the right message via the right channels to optimize your CRM results.  Mosaic gives you a detailed picture of your best customers. It then helps you identify areas with high concentrations of look-a-like people or households. You can rank any geographical area to allow precise targeting and more cost-effective marketing.

Mosaic is a very useful data fusion and imputation tool. Through Mosaic classification, you can link your customer files to a vast array of datasets for rich profiling. These datasets include your in-house customer database, your own market research, or external syndicated surveys. Mosaic is also a good modeling tool to predict likely behaviours such as propensity to respond, purchase, default on payment or defection.

Mosaic is available as data directories linking geographical neighbourhoods to their Mosaic types. These can be supplied with Experian’s address management software for batch processing and enrichment of large volumes of customer addresses. Access to Mosaic classifications is also available through our bureau and consultancy services.

Mosaic Selector

Mosaic Selector lets you create a customer profile report when there is little or no customer data available. It identifies classification types which are likely to be represented in a particular customer base, according to a set of qualitative information that you select.

You can use Mosaic Selector to access the characteristics (or variables) that have been used to build the Mosaic classifications. By applying weightings to the relevant characteristics, you can compile a report of likely customers without the need for actual customer data.
